A close study of the scriptures from Genesis 1:1 to Revelations 22:21 can only conclude that to apply any truth to the Bible, one must conclude God was the originator of the teachings and concepts found in the Holy Scriptures. If one cannot believe the concepts of the Bible originated with that supernatural force of power called God, then, it is foolhardy to attribute any of the Bible to anything other than man himself.
The writers of the Bible, while getting their inspiration and message to be relayed to man, from God, found themselves very limited in their attempt to express these concepts in terms that they themselves could understand. Man was limited in his own ability to express supernatural concepts in human understanding.
In so doing the various writers of the Bible found it necessary to express such things as God, A supernatural divinity in terms more attributable to natural man. God, a supernatural Spirit therefore is expressed in the words of scripture, with human attributes, thus in some cases leading the reader to view God in human terms instead of supernatural terms, which did not exist in the mind of the writers. They had no other way to express their understanding of things supernatural, but by human terms, which in many areas did not really apply, ie... the gender of God.
God, according to the understanding of learned objective students of the scriptures, is eternal and incorporeal, having no human physical characteristics such as gender. Man had to describe God in the only terms his human knowledge could understand. If the reader can understand these limitations of expressing things supernatural in natural human terms, they can then began to get a better understanding of the true divinity and power of God Almighty.
This is the reason that many in Christianity find themselves differing with many of their fellow proponents of Christianity, in their understanding of the intended teachings of the Bible, as well as who, and what God really is. To many of them, the scriptures are confusing to say the least. However, the scriptures say, "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints." I Corinthians 14:33
If one is to believe the scriptures, and if God is not the author of confusion, then it stands to reason, the confusion lies with the reader. It therefore takes diligent analysis and study to get the Bible to make any sense at all. It also takes the indwelling Spirit of God to separate carnal understanding from spiritual understanding of the written words of the Bible.
This thus explains the myriad differences within Christianity and exposes the reason there are so many disagreements concerning the true teachings of the scriptures when the Bible plainly states that we should all speak the same things concerning the meaning of the scriptures.
Whether the Bible is man's word or God's is thus determined by whether the reader believes the content of the words of scripture or does not believe, "the human terminology of the writers being applied to things supernatural not withstanding".
"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom (spoken word) also he made the worlds;" Hebrews 1:1-2
