Gays And The Bible

As always, I believe my opinions­­ or anyone else's­­ are not worth a hill of beans, so I will make every effort to keep my personal opinions to myself. However, it should be interesting to all concerned, just what the Bible does say about the practices of homosexuality.

"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God. After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD." Lev. 18:1-5

He went on to say, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination." Lev. 18:22

Some say, the above was only for the Jews of the old testament. However, Jesus said in the New Testament, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven (sky) and earth pass, one jot or tittle shall in wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Mt. 5:17-19

Apostle Paul made it clear, those who would "change the image of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man...God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

"For this cause God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness,: full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." Rom. 1:23-32

Apostle Paul also said, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." I Cor. 6:9-I0

While we are on the subject of abominations to God, those who refer to themselves as Christianity, need not be too smug against the gays who practice homosexuality. Most of them practice what Jesus Christ referred to as abominations to God in their regular worship services and do not even know they are just as guilty of offending God almighty as much as the gays are.

God commanded his followers not to practice the ways of the heathen. Jesus gave clear instructions how and where to pray. He said. "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you they have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door pray to the Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

"But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: [ie..the pagan Catholic Church and her protesting daughters (Protestants)] for they think they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him." Mt. 6:5-8

Jesus thus gave a clear commandment that his followers would not use repetitious prayers; because these prayers are not from the heart. They are rather meaningless rituals, which have no purpose in the worship of God. God considers the ways of the heathen an abomination to him.

After these clear commandments or instructions on "how to pray," most of Christianity has resorted to turning his example of an acceptable manner to pray, into a repetitive ritual, in direct contradiction to his commandment. These "heathen" call it the "LORD'S Prayer." He never intended to make this a useless ritual. He only said, "After this manner, therefore pray ye:" Mt. 6:9

God is not pleased with any of these abominations that go against his commandments. One abomination is just as abominable as any other one. All pagan practices are forbidden by God himself.
