"GIFTS OF HEALTH AND LOVE"

Well, this years’ shopping season is fast growing to a close and like many of you I’m still looking for that perfect gift for several names on my list. I don’t’ mind shopping I’m just not big on malls they don’t appeal to me, too much repetition.

Anyway, I thought I would throw out my best ideas this year; possibly it will save you some time- or your sanity. Or keep you from buying a voodoo doll, spell included for that overly picky person on your list.

Sad but true Christmas this year will find over three million of us unemployed. Of course one would like to wave a magic wand and produce the perfect job, but in the mean time how about a years’ subscription to SOHO Jobs.org. Bar none this is the best and the most legitimate internet site for home based computer jobs I’ve seen. If you buy now you can purchase a year’s weekly subscription to this helpful site for $24.95. Check it out! What better gift to give than the dignity of honest work.

Is there someone on your list seriously looking to get healthy or loose weight? What about a membership to the local fitness center, Curves for Women or a yoga class? If their eating habits need some help how about "The South Beach Diet" or "Eating Right 4 Your Type." They’ll not only loose weight but feel oh so much better. Or how about introducing someone to a high quality vitamin mineral supplement? They’ll thank you everyday when they see how much more energy they have.

Give a gift that gives thrice, seriously. Join The Sierra Club with a fifty dollar donation and you will help save the environment all of Gods’ littler creatures and you can have the magazine sent to loved one’s home; then they too are informed.

Someone on your list love animals but cant’ adopt an animal? How about supporting the valuable work of the Knox County Humane Society with a cash donation in honor of your animal loving person? Nothing will give an animal lover a better high, guaranteed!

Candles are a popular gift this time of year but are very polluting to the inside air of our homes. Soy wax candles are petroleum-free and will not give off soot or fumes. They burn more slowly and last longer. Larger unscented candles can be scented with inexpensive aromatherapy oils, only a few drops please. Save the rest of the oil for a relaxing hot tub after a long days shopping.

Thousands of individuals will fall and suffer fractures this year due to slick icy streets and walks. How about a pair of Yaktrax Walkers (www.yaktrax.com)? These simple traction devices are worn over the shoe and are easy to put on and take off. They fold up small enough to fit in a coat pocket and take the fear out of falling on ice covered surfaces.

Still stuck, how about a gift certificate for a massage? These are stressful times; nothing will say I care more than the compassionate touch of massage.

Hope this helps. Happy shopping everyone and happy holidays! Till next time, Rebecca
